A Co-Sleepers Tale

For all of you who have co-slept or have thought about it let me just say, once you start you might get one of these. That is my bed you see there, and that is my child, yes. She is now three and a half (or "almost four" if you ask her). She has been sleeping in her own bed for about 2 years now, but she loves to fall asleep in our bed, its like a treat. We start her in her own bed, do our night time routine; read, chat and pray, and one of us will usually stay for a bit to snuggle and then we try to leave her to fall asleep on her own. Some nights she does great, some nights we wants us to stay, and some nights she sneaks into our bed. This one particular night she had asked me if she could start in our bed and I said "no". I really wanted her to rest in her own bed. But a while after we left her alone, I went in my room to fold some laundry and this is what I found. Its like she is flaunting her sneakiness. Look at her taking up all the space and laying across the whole bed, using all the pillows, covers everywhere, arms sprawled out.

If you are wondering who the boss is in our house you can probably figure it out now. The picture is your hint.

Summer Fun!

My mom is visiting. So ya wanna know what I do with her? Give her the two cutest girls I know and a pool and she knows what to do. Swimming lessons! Doesn't Marin look so excited? hehe
Marin's little friend is just so dang cute. Look at her tongue, she's working so hard. She just had her third birthday, she looks three doesn't she. Nothing says Summer like two three year olds in pink swim suits having their first swim lesson.
You would think with all this swimming that Marin would be tired and going to bed early. The only one going to bed early is my poor worn out mother.

Even Pixie's Breastfeed

She needed a break from dancing, and Crying Baby needed to nurse. Even a Pixie breastfeeds her baby.

Oh she does break my heart when she pat's Crying Baby's back. She is such a wonderful Pixie mama.

According to her daddy, "Marin is really into nursing culture" I'm not really sure what that means, but when we loaned our breast pump to a friend she informed her "If you start on high, it will suck your nibbles off!"

Not every little girl names her favorite baby doll, "Crying Baby".

Do you see that wooden green pepper on the floor? This little girl not only names her favorite doll "Crying Baby" but she also drinks from a green pepper. Yes she often pretends to drink out of it... yum green pepper juice, a family fav!

The Real Story of Postpartum

Postpartum has had its toll on our house. I just love it when I feel like I spend a whole day cleaning only to turn around and find this (I'm not sure what is wrong with that child on the bed... maybe she's waiting for her real mother to come and get her, ya know pick her up from a day at the sitters)

And this (I'm not even sure there is a counter)

So Todd is actually on his way home about the time I am taking these pictures. Little does he know that I actually did scrub the toilet, organize a whole closet, sweep the floors and pull a few weeds in the garden. But those things don't clean up this mess, and seriously where are the children hiding... or are they lost?

Is it really 5pm and the bed has not been made? Let me just say, that bed was actually made once around noon, but then we had afternoon nap, and Marin played "mean lion" and tore the bed apart when I was... probably nursing (moo moo moo). At this point do I even bother to make it again?

The library just sent me an email and said I have some books overdue...

Awesome Product!

If you are having a baby anytime soon, or have just had a baby, if you have stitches or hemorrhoids, it does not matter. If you have pushed a baby out your "front bottom" as my daughter calls it, you need to get your hands on this product. You can order it from the Earth Mama Angel Baby, or some maternity stores or health food stores.

THIS STUFF WILL ROCK YOUR POSTPARTUM WORLD!

I'm 4 weeks postpartum and use it after every shower still! Because its so tingly and wonderful. Just go get it.

New Layout

I am having a lot of problems trying to figure out the new layout and picture upload that blogger is now using. I just cannot get things lined up properly. Sorry things looks so sloppy, I am going to continue working on this to see what evolves, but don't give up on me. Even though I have poor grammar, misspell words on a regular basis, and now cannot get the text and pictures lined up properly. Ohhhh one day I will figure all this out and do it right. In the meantime, I hope you all stick with me. I do have lots to write about these days, it just is a lot easier said than done with my new babers. Even though he sleeps a lot, I can't seem to get anything done.

Ohhh Baby!

I love newborns, and the way they look, even with acne on their cheeks. Look at those chubby cheeks. Todd and I make babies with very juicy cheeks

I love how much she loves him. She just can't keep her hands off of him and she just wants to squeeze him all the time. They have the same kissy cheeks. You know when adults say, "Ohh that baby is so cute I just want to squeeze those cheeks"? Well when you are three you don't so much JUST think it, you do it. She just can't help herself... poor little guy.

He might look like all the squishing is bothering him, but its not. He loves it. Even though his face is turning red, he's fine... Owen you are going to have plenty of time to get back at her.

Cryingbaby needs a snack during dinner too. In the words of my husband, "Marin is very into nursing culture." I'm not sure what that means but these pictures might be a clue.

She can nurse and eat just like her mama. All nursing mothers burn lots of calories and need to eat.
